Five chapels across South Texas — La Vernia, Nixon, Stockdale, Yorktown, and Runge. The same Finch family answering the phone, day or night, for more than sixty years.
A licensed funeral director is awake, listening, and ready to help you take the next small step — at any hour.
A funeral is not a transaction. It is a moment a family will remember for the rest of their lives. We treat it that way, every time.
In 1961, Barney Finch bought into a funeral home in Nixon, Texas. He didn't call it a business. He called it a calling.
His son Don opened the La Vernia chapel in 1992. Troy and Janet Finch moved here to run it — and have been here ever since. Troy was named Texas Funeral Directors Association Funeral Director of the Year in 2013. Their daughter Taylor is already studying business. The fourth generation of Finches. None of them call this a job.
